Pen and Ink Skunk Art

This summer our yard has been visited by a family of skunks, the mama and two little ones. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't make such a stink in the middle of the night, the smell woke me out of my sleep and lingered until the evening.  It happened again a few days later,  even with the windows closed the smell entered the whole house!

Anyway, skunks may be smelly but they are cute and I was inspired to make this little pen and ink drawing from memory.  Who knows, maybe someday I'll even paint the little stinkers.

Lynx Acrylic Painting

8 x 10 inch acrylic on stretched canvas

I was surprised that the dollar store sells stretched canvas so I thought I'd give it a try with this acrylic painting of a lynx in winter.

The stretcher bars of the canvas are a bit narrower than the canvas I bought from an art store. It also doesn't seem to be primed but that's okay when you are painting with acrylics on canvas. The only thing I'm concerned with is that the canvas may not be acid free which  lessens yellowing. Time will tell I guess.

Watercolor Squirrel Art

5x7 inch Watercolor

I like squirrels, especially gray squirrels with their white furry bellies. We have lots of them in the yard all year round. This is a small watercolor painting made recently.
