Baltimore Oriole Paintings

Last spring I was surprised to see Baltimore Orioles come to my hummingbird feeder. I didn't know that they too liked feeding on nector. I've also learned that Baltimore Orioles like oranges, so this spring I cut an orange in half, hollowed it out and pored some home made nector into the peel then hung it under the balcony.

It wasn't long before these bright orange colored birds started coming to it, and of course it was a delight for me to get to observe them up close. It gave me inspiration to paint this small 5x7 inch acrylic painting.
