Seeing cardinals perched on an apple tree branch covered with snow was the inspiration for this small 7x5 inch acrylic painting of a female cardinal. The picture was painted on canvas board. This winter we've had lot's of visiting cardinals in the yard, since last summer I have a birdfeeder filled with black oil sunflower seeds to attract them and other types of birds. The cardinals don't mind sharing the feeder with other birds but there is this one red cardinal that wants the feeder all to himself!
