I have been observing birds in my backyard and then trying to draw and paint them from memory. This Dark Eyed Junco watercolor sketch is my first attempt. The Juncos are only around during winter and beginning of spring, I guess they don't like the summer heat and move on to cooler temperatures. They never eat from the bird feeder that's hanging from the cloths line but forage on the ground and on the patio.
